Solo Dance Class Descriptions & Fees
Little Shamrocks
This class will teach young performers how to listen and move to Irish music rhythms. Basic foot placement and exercises will be utilized in a fun, game filled atmosphere to prepare the performers to learn the intricate footwork of Irish dance in the next level of class. Ages 3-4. *Must have 4 participants to hold this class.
Trinity
This class will teach the basic steps of Irish soft shoe jigs, reels followed by introduction to slip jig and hard shoe rhythms. This class is offered for both boys and girls ages 5+. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Shamrocks
$120 per semester
Dara
The Dara (Doire) knot indicates wisdom, strength, power and leadership. This class begins instruction of dance tricks. Dancers use their strengths in solo steps to incorporate those tricks they do best. Also set dance work will continue in the area of hard shoe. Prerequisite: Completion of Triskele.

Beard Pullers
In this class, the degree of difficulty increases dramatically as the dancer works to achieve more difficult footwork. Dancers must be dedicated and self motivated to accomplish the tasks required of this class. Prerequisite: Completion of Claddagh.

Shamrocks
This class teaches the basic moves used in all of Irish dance. With these moves mastered the dancer can begin to learn the steps for the reel. Ages 5+

Triskele
The Celtic swirl, the Triskele, represents power. In this class dancers continue to work on basic hard and soft shoe steps. In addition, more intricate footwork and tricks are taught as well as instruction in choreographed dance pieces for performances. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Trinity

Claddagh
The Celtic swirl, the Triskele, represents power. In this class A continuation in learning the art of Irish Dance with emphasis on more advanced steps and moves. Dancers use their strengths in solo steps to create a work of art with the aid of the instructor. Prerequisite: Completion of Dara.

Group Dance Class Descriptions & Fees
Beginner Céilí
Dancers will learn both modern and traditional 3-hands, 4-hand reel, 6-hand Fairy Reel, and 6-hand Duke Reel. This is an introduction to group dancing where dancers learn the basic movements and how to move through dance with a partner or partners. Prerequisite: Must have completed one semester of Trinity or higher dance level.

Beginner Céilí Team
Dancers in this class will learn dances from the books of Irish history. The céilís, or group dances, are taught as they were written hundreds of years ago. Dancers also learn choreography created for them by the Sr. Céilí Team for The Feochadan Project and performances. Prerequisite: Beginning Céilí

Adult Irish Dance Class
Dancers in this class will learn dances from the books of Irish history. The céilís, or group dances, are taught as they were written hundreds of years ago. Sean-nós is the old style of Irish solo dancing. Dancers also learn choreography created for them by the Sr. Céilí Team for The Feochadan Project and performances.

TEAM CRANN BHEATHA
Dancers in this class will learn dances from the books of Irish history. The céilís, or group dances, are taught as they were written hundreds of years ago. Dancers also put their skills to work Choreographing dances for The Feochadan Project and performances. Prerequisite: By Invitation

Participants from 7th grade and above will pick a focus to create a dance show that will be performed in 2022 for families and the community. By Invitation

Open Studio for Competitive Dancers
Our facilities are available to any competitive dancer (regardless of school) for practice. Scheduling the studio by contacting us at OVSCDC.
$25 per dance per hour
Note: A one time registration fee of $20 per dancer is due each year. Second class discounts will be automatically applied.
