Iris has been Irish dancing since she was five and looks forward to it every week! She particularly enjoys treble jigs and any original choreography. Iris’s favorite part about teaching is seeing how students enjoy dancing together, and how they are motivated by their improvement, while hopefully encouraging it. When Iris isn’t dancing, she is probably playing music, spending time outside, or reading.

Savannah has been dancing at OVSCDC for 6 years now. She found the group through one of their summer camps, and immediately knew it was something she wanted to pursue. Savannah loves what OVSCDC does for the community, and is always looking forward to the next community performance. Her favorite dances are treble jigs, both when learning and teaching. She thinks the best part about teaching is watching something click in someone’s head and seeing them be proud of their work. Other than dancing, she spends her free gardening, doing puzzles, and making jewelry.

Emily has been dancing at OVSCDC for around 8 years now. They watched Irish Dancing at a young age and wanted to join as soon as they could! They love working on choreography with team and watching everyone work together to create new and original dances for audiences to enjoy. They also like doing reel steps and ceili dances, especially ones like fairy reel and duke reel. Emily loves the rich and vibrant community OVSCDC nurtures, urging students to improve and learn in their unique ways while also having fun. Emily loves watching when their students create bonds with one another, work with each other and drive themselves to learning new things. Emily will be at OVSCDC for a few more years before taking a quick break for college. When not dancing, you will find Emily baking, training their dog, and making jewelry.
